Moving on up…

So…I’m reconsidering apartment life as it is supposed to offer me time to get things done and figure out where I am.  I can think of all sorts of ways to respond to that but I’ll save you the reading.  Apartment life…I cringe.  If the last 6 months haven’t already been a void of actual existence.  It’s a pretty good feeling to be 30 now and really have nothing to show for it.  I’ve acquired this new thing though, my right eye twitches constantly.  I hear it could be from lack of sleep or stress…  At least I get amusement of watching it in the mirror; I look like I’m fiending for a line or something.  So lets look at the pros and cons of apartment life (we all know I’m starting with the cons):

  1. Paying $700+ to have neighbors share walls on every possible side of me.
  2. Paying for a garage that can’t store my truck because it has to store all my stuff instead, all during the spring/summer when hail storms are common.
  3. My grill is worthless which it’s my favorite way to cook.
  4. My hobby of growing peppers is going to be no existent.
  5. Unpacking is pointless as this home is only temporary (temporary = a few years).
  6. Nordic Track is out because it makes too much noise for apartment life so the working out thing is sort of curbed.
  7. Relaxig to music is at the discretion of my neighbors because I can’t be too loud and hopefully they won’t be.
  8. That undying feeling of defeat for doing the one thing I didn’t want to have to do which I’ll be reminded of every day I have to return to my over priced shoebox.

We all know I can continue this for hours…  Bottom line, a minimum of 6 months of what I’m gone to think is pure hell and unhappiness.  Lets look at the pros.

  1. The $50 I might save a month by renting can go towards beer.
  2. I have nothing that’s actually mine to take care of or feel proud of.
  3. No one will want to visit me in an apartment (this goes well with my last post as becoming an anomic loner may be the only way to find happiness in this world).
  4. I can spend another 6 months living with all of my belongs packed away making it a whole year.
  5. I think I can officially cross an item off my New Years resolution list because I will not be unable to do it anyway.

I’m so excited…  I’m pretty sure most of what I do own, I don’t actually need anymore.  Honestly, if you can go a year without needing it then what’s the point of having it.  Granted, a lot of things will have no value to you as they are things that contain memories of the past but some of it is fun stuff.  So, if there’s anything you’re looking for cheap, let me know, I may have just what you need.  Hell, I may even barter if you have what I’m looking for.  ;)

Corey i really dont see you living in an apartment again..maybe a house to rent..but even then not so much. Granted shit is not easy for you right now but if you have to give up a grill, growing some mutated hot peppers of love..and listening to music\playing GH at retarded fun levels i dont see you being happy and ending up killing everyone at work like atleast 3 months sooner than you are already planning. Plus you always talk about wanting to have BBQs and shit like that..say no to an apartment man you will die in it.

You are missing the one good thing about apartment life, HOT COLLEGE CHICKS… they are everywhere, in the club house, in the fitness center and if god is smiling on you at the pool wearing almost nothing on their still young enough to have everything in the right place bodies. It is one of the few bonuses of living in what amounts to housing cubicals. Keep your head up man, no one ever found anything looking down… well except for the change that everyone else dropped but that is really not the point here.
