Let it snow!

There’s nothing quite as fulfilling as clearing the snow off a drive of a house that is sold.  (In case you couldn’t tell, that was sarcasm)  And if 10 inches of drifted snow isn’t enough, I snapped off the top of a landscape light that I’m sure I will have to replace.  I think buying a home in the winter is a good idea because you can drive by and see if the home you want gets a good or bad drift when the snow is blowing.  This was the first time in my 4 years as a home owner that it was so cold I had to take a 10 minute break cause my hands were so cold they hurt.  I don’t really understand why in Nebraska, when the snow falls, everyone leaves there house when they are not comfortable driving in this weather.  Granted, I usually go 5 or 10 over the limit at all times because I seem to think I’m always in a hurry but 20 mph on a Highway just seems like a safety hazard.  Today was my first Tuesday/Thursday of having to be to work at 8:00 instead of 8:30.  Of course I tried going to bed early and tossed and turned for 3 hours and woke up later than expected.  I hadn’t even looked outside cause I was rushing to get ready.  As I opened the garage and checked my phone I saw my supervisor called to give me a warning that Old Chenney was backed up and knew my chances of being early were gone.  Pretty much everything was backed up so the 30 minute drive to work ruined my plans of being there on time.  The thing that was most frustrating is I’ve been drilled by speed traps numerous times, but I find it hard to believe me going 5 mph over the speed limit is more dangerous than the number of people that run red lights and pull out in front of oncoming traffic when it snows.  They always say there’s tons of accidents when it is like this out and you should take it slow.  Slow doesn’t mean you can drive like you’re the only one on the road though.  I can’t wait for green grass!
