Sometimes it doesn’t take much…  I’ve spent most of my time sleeping this week.  After work I come home and sleep.  I’m up for a few hours and then try to sleep again and fall asleep eventually.  I never feel rested.  I always feel tired.  I do have a secret, I actually suffer from something that causes me not to be able to sleep well.  It comes and goes and I’ve learned to hide it to the point of it being non-existent some times.  I really thought that the stress was diminishing in my life, not that everything is pleasant and not that I have some sort of understanding of things I didn’t have before.  Actually, I feel sort of lost and unimportant in this big world most of the time.  But sometimes all it takes is the company of friends to change everything.  Oddly, at 130 AM I feel full of energy and ready to take on tomorrow and tomorrow is the last day of the work week so it won’t take much to get through the day.  I haven’t felt this alive in weeks and I’m excited I feel tired like a normal person.  Not that “blah” tired but real tired, which hopefully means I’ll be sleeping soon.

I have no problem admitting I’m a technology geek.  For the first time ever, I’m being tested in this department.  I’ve been wanting to build a new computer for awhile.  I picked out my CPU some time ago.  The new 45 NM dual cores were cheaper than the quad cores.  All you people that thought the quad core was where it was at were suckers.  The e8400 CPU will simply crush the q6600 in most normal applications the average and above average user uses.  But for the first time ever, the ONE thing I want I can’t buy!  It’s getting frustrating.  I’ve never seen one piece of hardware in such high demand.  I’ve had an e8400 on order at Buy.com for over a month.  No one has it.  I got a link to basically pre-order one this week that was expected to be in 3.29.08.  I don’t plan to actually get one shipped to me.  I have two orders right now at two different sites and who ever sends it first wins.  Newegg had an OEM version in stock today.  It didn’t even last 24 hours before being out of stock again.  This is just insane.  I’ve seen consoles on high demand like this before but never a CPU.  I just want to build my new computer, it’s not that much to ask for.  I almost spent an extra $150 today to order the new 45 NM quad core because sites are starting to get that in stock.  Who knows, by the end the weekend I may say screw it and spend the extra money.  The q9450 is actually a slower CPU than the e8400 but it is a quad core over dual core and has double the cache so it’s not lacking in the L2 department.  Maybe I’ll get lucky and my e8400 will actually ship on 3.29.08 like it’s supposed to…  I guess I’ll let you know and then you can all sleep better.
