Hybrids Finally Profitable?
I drive a SUV and it is expensive. I’m trying to find a place to live and I figured out once that every mile I live from work costs me an extra $10.00 in gas per 4 weeks. Now it is more like $13.50 per mile since gas is up to $4 a gallon. So when you are looking at a house, you have to seriously take this in to consideration when figuring your budget. Southeast Lincoln is more expensive but about 2 miles from work. Southwest Lincoln offers much more house for your money but it is at least 6 miles from work. That is an extra $54 a month I have to spend on gas which I could apply to a house payment if I lived closer. Not to mention, who knows what gas prices will do a few years down the road. With gas being such a concern I constantly feel like I should sell me vehicle but for anyone that knows me, an SUV is about the only thing that works for me. This leads in to an interesting article I read yesterday about hybrids. I, like many others, thought hybrids were the way of the future but in reality they offered no cost savings to the customer, although the average customer would never know that. Now with gas at $4 a gallon, some hybrids are actually becoming cost saving investments. There is a premium you pay for a hybrid in comparison to its normal gas engine counter-part. The article I read actually figures out at what point your extra cost up front and less fuel consumed actually will break even and you will start saving money. The Nissan Altima and Toyota Prius are actually under the four year mark for when you’ll break even. Four years is not a long time to own a vehicle so this could be a cost savings purchase for most. The amusing part is some vehicles you’ll never break even because of the hybrid premium. The Chevy Malibu would take almost 11 years, the Toyota Highlander about 18 years and the Lexus LS600H would take about 99 years.
I also read a story about a little girl’s lemonade stand getting robbed. An 18 year old boy came up and asked for all the money. She gave him the $17 dollars she had and then decided to follow him home. The police were called and after 45 minutes the 18 year old finally came out and was arrested. I guess the 12 year old little girl out smarted the 18 year old that obviously was lacking in the common sense department.
So I mentioned I was looking for recommendations on driving ranges… and got none. Anyone have a recommendation for a good, cheap bluetooth headset to use with a Razor and Moto Q. I’ll just be swapping the phone I’m using depending what I’m doing. I hate talking on the phone and apparently have to do it much more frequently these days. If you’re in the mood to recommend things, I’m looking for a 46″ HD LCD too… don’t say Sony.
My blog is getting so popular, apparently I have censors now (maybe advisers is a better term)… as much as I’d like to elaborate on this, I’m guessing I’m not allowed to. For the record, if you think I wrote something specifically about you, you’re always going to be mistaken. It takes at least two people’s involvement for me to form an opinion large enough for me to express. The question is, who’s the other person?

Hey, remember me! LOL
Anyway, you want a good cheap’ish bluetooth headset? Check out the BlueAnt Z9 at NewEgg. It’s $62.99 and is incredible! I’ve bought 5 of them. One for me. One for my wife (which my dog ate). A second for my wife. One for my mother-in-law (which she lost). A second for my mother-in-law. These little things have great sound and the voice isolation works very well even in noisy restaurants. I have yet for someone to even know that I’m using a headset! They’re way better than the Jawbone too. I had one of those and returned it because it sucked. I just wish I could find a bluetooth compatible land-line phone that would let me use it.
Why you always gotta be writtin about me, huh, ain’t you got nothin better to do then hassle me all the time? I mean I know I am omnipotent and that everyone is always thinking about me that is just a given… but do ya gotta put that shiznit on the intronet for everyone to see? Cut a brotha some slack already.
