Goodbye My Sweet Internet
This will be my last post for awhile I’m sure. I’m taking the cable modem in this morning and dropping it off. I worst part is I have to set up a time for Time Warner to come out to the new house and I’m guessing I’ll be lucky if they have time to come out within the next 2 weeks. You know, cause they’re so busy since they’re our only option and it shows in their pricing. They may be the worst people to deal with when it comes to getting service.
So moving the first night went well. We got a lot done actually, a lot more than I thought we’d get done. All the boxes are cleared out and most of the electronics moves. That means after I get back from Omaha it is time to pack again and get ready for tomorrow. I have a lot of packing to do still. I probably should have been packing last night but I was tired so tonight could be a late night or I should skip the Air Show and NFM to pack but that’s not going to happen. Plus, I’m looking forward to eating at Pepperjax’s in Omaha.
I’ve only had two snags so far after closing. Maybe three, they really should have put forth some effort to clean. It is kind of disgusting actually. The first issue was only one garage remote. I really can’t believe they only had one remote for a 2 car garage and it kind of worries some one could have another remote to the garage out there. The selling agent bought a universal and dropped it off and all I have to do is reset the opener but how do you ever really know the old remote doesn’t actually work anymore without having it. I’ll probably be buying a new opener at some point soon and new locks for the house. The bigger issue, which my whole house inspection should have caught. The kitchen since is backwards. The cold water is hot and the hot water is cold. It is copper all the way to the faucet so you can not easily swap them. The bigger issue, the cold water is running to the dishwasher. How someone bought a brand new house and let the builder get away with that mistake I don’t know. I can understand the average person not knowing to check the dishwasher but I’d think they would question why they’re dishwasher doesn’t clean anything. I can not understand how they were okay with the faucet being backwards. The house is only 4 years old and the previous owner was the only owner so they had a warranty and could have had it fixed. The people that did the whole house inspection should be following up though and hopefully it gets fixed for free.
Time to get moving, hopefully I won’t be missing for long.

Just a couple of thoughts, perhaps your kitchen sink is correct and every other sink on the planet is backwards… maybe we are just so used to backwards that we now except it as the norm, if I was you I would relish the only correct sink on the planet. On the subject of the garage door opener I would be way more concerned that the previous people that lived there had children who lost things… a lot so instead of the potential of a second remote I would concentrate on the possibility that there are literally dozens of keys to your house floating around the city, some of which the possessor of said key knows exactly which house it goes to and they are just sitting back waiting for you to go to work one day and then they will just come clean you out… it is all nice and packed up already so it shouldn’t really take them all that long. Enjoy the new house.
