Mass Updates Available
Yup, I’ve been absent for quite some time. I think I have about 4 posts I wrote and never got around to publishing and now they’re just old news. It is amazing how busy you can be without even realizing it. So here is the quick and dirty mass update. The unpacking is probably at 95% but the organizing is probably at 50%. I’m losing steam, that’s for sure. I’m REALLY looking forward to winter actually even though it is kind of depressing it is getting dark so much earlier. The TV is all setup and I have to say… “I’ve missed you my audio system”. The new TV looks really good too. Not to mention I just got Circuit City to price match the TV with a coupon I had found and the current web price even though I was past my 30 days. That’s another $251 off what I paid. That is officially $679.45 off retail price… go me. The truck is in the garage and the dartboard is up Actually, planning the fish grill was sort of to motivate me to get myself in gear and I got A LOT done last week. Did I mention I can’t wait for winter. Hopefully the Rock Band/Guitar Hero nights come back and I can spend some time catching up on movies I’ve gotten in the last year. The Buckcherry / Shinedown / Saving Abel concert was awesome. It may have easily worked it’s way to the top 3 list. Buckcherry always rocks and there 10 minute version of Crazy Bitch is just awesome. Shinedown though was almost better, probably cause I’ve need seen them. I didn’t realize how many of their songs I knew and liked. I am pretty irritated the old ladies pulling the bottom of the tickets stubs of were so lazy they tore the tickets in half instead of breaking them at the perforated line. But… being in the 2nd and 3rd rows for Buckcherry sort of made up for it since, for the first time ever, I ended up with one of the drum sticks. Luckily Cece wasn’t paying attention or I may have ended up with an elbow in the stomach when I reached to grab it (just kidding). It was really an awesome evening. All the drama of the recent news has finally died down and things are back to normal. The cat is out of the bag and it’s about time because it was about lifeless when it came out… I guess the holes weren’t big enough. I think I’m winning the war on the creepy crawling things. I haven’t seen a cricket or giant spider in the house for over a week. They still show up in the garage but that is sort of expected. I’ve found some pretty fun stores to go shopping at in Lincoln… funny how long you can live some place and not realize some of the cool places that exist in town. I thought the basement was going to be very cold all the time but actually, I’m having troubles keeping it cool enough. It should be a pretty nice place to hang out in the winter months. Gas prices rock right now! I think that covers most everything. I’m looking forward to October. I’m heading to South Carolina for 5 days and have 8 out of 10 days off from work (yea for Bank holidays).
On to a topic I don’t like to discuss, Politics. Any one that knows me well knows my take on Politics. I’m pro-nothing. I find it amusing how much time people waste on politics actually. I have to say most elections I pay attention and choose to still not really care much but at least I figure it won’t be that bad. This election, well, I’m considering moving to Mexico regardless. It is just amusing to me that most people don’t realize what a popularity contest politics are in the US. Most candidates spend more time making their opponent look worse instead of making themselves look better. This time around though it seems like the cool thing to do was go for… hmmm… I’m not even sure what. This is the first time the Caucasian male wasn’t the main point of the election. Don’t get me wrong… race and gender really doesn’t matter to me but I get a feeling that race and gender is being used to gain votes by both parties. It is just ridiculous. It will be interesting to see what the next four years holds and how much we’ll bitch about the next president.
