It has been 4 months and it is still not Spring!
I know… I know… four months and nothing. It is kind of lame of me actually. The funny part, I have written about five or six posts and never actually posted them. I spend all that time to get it done and then just don’t take the time to get it posted. Then it gets a little dated and I try to edit it so it seems more accurate and I end up scrapping it and starting the process all over. I think I make it more complicated than it needs to be, but typically I don’t really feel I have a bunch of extra time to sit down and type. I’ll see if I can do better.
So, the last 4 months; Well, I went and saw Nine Inch Nails at the MAC, Disturbed in Kearney and Slipknot at the MAC. I opted to miss a lot of recent show though, just because so many of the bands I have seen so many times it seems silly to keep spending money to see the same shows. Slipknot was awesome though and apparently I have a new streak to hold up. Once again, someone decided to punch me in the face at a Slipknot concert. This time was much less dramatic and I actually kind of feel sorry for the dumb kid because his hand probably came out in worse shape than my face. I guess he learned not to aim for the mouth. Pretty amusing story if you ever want to hear it, let me know. Slipknot at Mayhem Fest was good but Slipknot headlining their own tour was way better because they lifted and rotated Joey and they did the “Everybody, get on your knees” version of Spit It Out. I guess some bands I would pay to see over and over again. I am seeing Disturbed again in May… but I haven’t seen the other three main bands yet. I am kind of disappointed in Lincoln, if they don’t do something about the event center, bands are going to keep opting for Kearney, Grand Island and Council Bluffs. I don’t mind the trip to Council Bluffs, but Grand Island and Kearney are a little too far out there. Lincoln has had nothing really exciting in awhile. Avenged Sevenfold, Buckcherry, Shine Down and Saving Abel and Avenged Sevenfold canceled (I may have gone to that in the last 4 months, I don’t remember but it was a really good show). I can see that tour going farther west because they hit Lincoln and Council Bluffs in the last 6 months, but Disturbed and Korn… come on!
I just refinanced the house after only being here for seven months. Dropping my payment 10% and putting a few thousand dollars in my pocket seemed like a good idea and I still don’t have to pay for mortgage insurance. The house is about up to my standards in terms of decorating. It actually looks like someone lives here. I have been very busy this winter and now it is time to start getting ready to work on the outside. I definitely see the benefits of buying new versus previously owned. I didn’t have to spend time fixing stuff in the first house, just keeping it up to my standards (which are pretty high). At least it keeps me busy I suppose. My birthday and Valentines day (well, the day before) were pretty good this year. I got to eat Chinese at a very nice place I have never been too and had fried Oysters for the this time (those were of the home made kind). I have been trying to get a little more time in for my gaming hobby (Xbox 360 or PC) but have not been doing very good at that. Now that it should start to get nice it is time for fishing, BBQing and outside activities. I really need to buy a new grill first because the other one has been around for 10 years and it is time to retire her as a backup grill for big BBQs. If anyone has any good suggestions let me know (I need a lot of surface area since I use my grill as a smoker too). I already have 15 lbs of pork and 10 lbs of New York strips in my freezer awaiting a new grill so I need to find something soon.
Well, I could go on forever about the last four months but I will cut it off here. I really need to try to keep on top of this blog or get rid of it because I barely scratched the surface since my last post. Really, I have always used my website mostly for the image gallery but I haven’t even done anything with that at all yet. Well, until next time… hope for better weather!
