A Strange Haze Is Covering the Crowd
With nicer weather coming, the concert scene should pick up. Tonight while reading the bulletins on MySpace I was giddy! I used to be a huge 311 fan (well, still a fan just not as active). I’ve seen them at about every venue you can imagine in Nebraska and Iowa. I got into them before the self titled album (the blue one). I have to say they’re pre-Capricorn releases and first two Capricorn releases (Grassroots and Music) were my favorites. Over the years they release a song or two on each CD I really like. I’ve been wanting to experience 311 day for awhile. That occurs on even years on March 11th. They do a giant concert and I think the 2006 version featured a 69 song setlist and 4 hours of music. Unfortunately it involves traveling and I couldn’t go this year. I would just be excited to see them again at this point… and that is the reason I was so giddy. They’re coming back to Omaha on July 2nd, 2008. They were here last year but the accompanying bands didn’t interest me and there were too many other shows going on so I didn’t go. But this time, I’m going! 311 and Snoop Dogg at Westfaire! Okay, it sounds silly. In my high school days, rap was my music of choice but I’ve never seen a rap artist on the stage. As for Snoop Dogg, unless his setlist is from the 90s I doubt I’ll know any of the music but come on, this is an interesting pair, especially for Iowa! Tickets go on sale April 5th, so depending on the layout I may have to purchase early. It is not mayhem fest but it should be entertaining at least if it is not crazy expensive. You can stop laughing now, I’m still planning to go!
I wanted to point out to all the people coming from MySpace, I realize the “You’re leaving MySpace” thing is annoying. If you use the link from the widget on my profile page you can bypass the stupid people warning. If you link from your personal page’s friend updates, you’re out of luck I guess. There is an RSS feed though, so if you want you can add the RSS feed to your readers or the your Google IG page. I really only cross post on MySpace because I figure more people are likely to stumble upon me via MySapce than people actually going out and searching for me.
